I’m a recently retired professional who’s been taking guitar lessons with Daniel Trent for almost 9 months.  Dan has provided me with a good understanding of the fundamentals needed to play the guitar.  I find that Dan is responsive to what I’m seeking to personally achieve.  He’s encouraged me, supported me and challenged me all at the same time.  During our lessons he draws from his background and experience as a musician and performer, which is most helpful.  What started as noise is becoming music.  I find it remarkable that under his tutelage I’ve developed a passion for playing.

I feel good after my lesson… Keep up the good work!

Our son takes weekly guitar lessons with Dan Trent. None of us have any background in music instruction, and Dan has been wonderfully patient and a great experience for us. I also appreciate that he is really collaborative and fantastic with communication. Our son loves his lessons, which are stress-free, and it has been a great joy to watch him fall in love with music. So much of individual instruction relies on a personal connection, and Dan’s knowledge and skill coupled with an open and warm personality makes him particularly well-suited for working with new students. I recommend him highly.

We are extremely satisfied with Tarun’s progress. We are happy to have found Dan as his teacher.

Mathavan + Subhashini

We appreciate your flexibility in adding the Taylor Swift music to your lessons. Although Devon likes to learn all types of music, learning to play an artist’s songs that are relevant to her, helps keep her excited about playing.

Denise + Tony

A true professional, Dan knows how to teach guitar and bass separately, as a bass student, i like that. Also, studying in the teachers home is so much better than the back room of a music store. Keep the humorous examples coming, makes learning so much more enjoyable.

My 10 years old daughter has been taking lessons with Dan for a little over 2 years now and I can’t imagine a better teacher than Dan. He has kept my daughter interested in the guitar and she is always looking forward to her weekly guitar lessons with him so she can learn and get tips on the songs that she likes to learn or share what she has been working on. Dan has been very encouraging and tailored his lessons to the ability and the interest of my daughter to help her advance as quickly as possible.Dan is not only a fantastic guitar player but also a musician in general with versatile knowledge and skills to play any type of music that his student like and want to learn. You can see that clearly if you attend one of his performance shows that he puts together for his students.I strongly recommend him as a guitar teacher for any genre of music at any skill level.

I have had the opportunity to take lessons with Dan consecutively for over 2.5 years. I cannot say enough about his teaching style, ability to inspire, and theoretical knowledge of not only the guitar, but also music in general. As someone who is learning guitar a bit later on in life, Dan has always encouraged me to pursue my goals in music, and his dedication to his craft is clearly evident. I highly recommend Dan to anyone who is considering taking guitar lessons, as his commitment to making his students the best they can be is continuously evident.

Student Recital

One goal for students taking music lessons is to have the opportunity to perform. It’s a gift to be able to share your musical talents and achievements with an audience, and the experience can change the course of study for evolving young musicians.

The most popular performance a music student sees each year is the “end of year recital”. It’s a time when students of various ages and levels get to present a selection in front of peers and parents alike. In my studio, I like to note how amazing it is to see the range of study displayed and how you can see the course of learning an instrument perfectly articulated in the performances.
